When decorating the kid’s room, wooden bunk beds can be lots of fun. Wooden beds in general have a nice appearance and lots of people still have a wooden bed. The metal frames lack the appeal and design that people can get with a hardwood design. The feel is much better and the beds are still very strong. The frame can look antique and be better able to match the decor of the room. A bed is a place where people often spend about one third of their life so it makes sense to be happy with the resting place. It used to be all frames were made of wood, so what was good enough for centuries, is good enough for today.

Lumber can be cut into all different shapes and a person might want to make or adapt their own sleeping place. This can be a fun project to do with your kids if you are good with a jigsaw. Just get some plywood, and draw the design you want, like a car or a dolphin. It needs to something that is somewhat rectangular shaped and make it long enough. Cut it out with a jigsaw. It can then be painted in the child's favorite colors and screwed to the side of the frame as a guard to keep the child from falling off in the night.

Neat looking beds can make sleep time easier. A child who otherwise refuses to get out of mommy and daddy's room will likely dive into a bed that more resembles his or her favorite things. However if you are not good with carpentry, do not despair. There are many store made wooden beds that have kid-pleasing shapes. If your child liked the Disney movie Cars, or just likes cars then check out Disney Pixar Cars. Maybe the little princes would prefer a Disney Princess wooden Bed. There are many reasons why a person would want to choose a wooden bed. Mostly it is a matter of looks and variety. Lumber comes in a much larger variety than metal. It can more easily be painted and designed. Headboards are almost always made of wood, and it looks better to have a wooden frame to go with the head board. Designs can be imprinted or carved in the head board and the frame. The effects are something is enjoyable to sleep in and just for appearance.
